Vietnamese family-owned businesses are quickly emerging as leaders in the global manufacturing industry. Companies like the Vingroup and Truong Hai Auto Corporation (Thaco), which began as small family-run enterprises, have now become significant players in Vietnam’s rapidly growing economy. These businesses have embraced innovation and technology to compete on the global stage.
Vingroup, for example, started as a small trading business and has since expanded into diverse sectors such as real estate, healthcare, and automobiles. Led by Pham Nhat Vuong, the family behind Vingroup has embraced rapid innovation to capture market share both domestically and internationally. “Our family’s vision is to contribute to Vietnam’s transformation through cutting-edge technology and business diversification,” Vuong said at a recent conference on innovation in Asia.
Family enterprises like Vingroup are also prioritizing sustainability, investing in electric vehicle manufacturing and clean energy solutions, reflecting global trends towards eco-friendly business practices.
